What is Lemon Essential Oil?

Lemon, like most other citrus fruits, was originally a hybrid. Its exact origins are not clear, but it is thought to be a cross between citron (one of the original varieties of citrus) and bitter orange. Citrus limon trees have glossy green leaves and white flowers. They grow best in warmer climates.

Lemon trees are thought to have originated in India. They were present in Ancient Rome and were common in Persia in the 8th century. For much of history, Citrus limon trees were used for ornamental purposes and the fruits were not generally eaten until the 1500s. In the 1700s, they were used as a remedy for scurvy.

Like all citrus oils, lemon essential oil loses a large amount of its potency when exposed to heat. As a result, cold pressing is the best method to extract this oil. To do this, we use a machine to compress the Citrus limon peels. Using centrifugation and other methods, we then separate the essential oil from any other parts of the fruit or peel and then purify it.

If you want shiny, gorgeous hair, then you can use diluted lemon oil for a scalp massage. This stimulates your hair follicles and encourages healthy hair growth. Both oily and dry scalps can benefit from this essential oil. Combining it with rosemary or lavender essential oil can amplify its cosmetic benefits. Instead of using carrier oil, you can also add a few drops of lemon oil to your current shampoo or conditioner. Be sure to mix well before using.

The scent of lemon is very bright and energizing. Diffusing lemon essential oil, whether on its own or in combination with your other favorite scents, is an excellent way to boost your mood. It can also help you concentrate, so diffusing it while you are working can be beneficial.

How to Use Lemon Oil

To diffuse this essential oil, simply add a few drops to your diffuser. Make sure to follow any specific instructions for your model to avoid damaging it. Using more than a few drops of pure essential oil can lead to an overwhelming scent, so don’t exceed the recommended amount for your unit’s capacity. You should also limit diffusion time to a few hours at once to avoid overexposure.

Lemon oil, like any other 100% pure essential oil, must be diluted with a carrier oil before applying it topically. We recommend using three drops of the oil in one teaspoon of carrier oil, but you may wish to start with a lower concentration first. You can use coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, or any other carrier oil that you prefer.

Cautions

Lemon oil can increase your photosensitivity. This increases your risk of burning if you go outside. Avoid exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays for up to 12 hours after using this oil topically.

All pure essential oils must be diluted with a carrier oil before applying them to your skin. It is also important to avoid sensitive areas such as your nose, ears, or around your eyes. Some people are allergic to certain oils or are more sensitive to them. Test on a small area of skin before you use lemon essential oil more widely and seek medical attention if you notice any adverse reaction.

Keep out of reach of children.

If you are pregnant, nursing, or under the care of a physician, consult your health care provider before using lemon or any other essential oil.

This essential oil is for external use only and should not be ingested.

Pure essential oils are flammable and should be stored in a cool, dry location away from any open flames or excess heat.
