Top Essential Oil Diffuser Benefits
One of the many ways to use essential oils is through aromatherapy. This is the process of using scents from natural plant extracts to help promote health and wellbeing. Using a diffuser is the easiest and safest way to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy. The process of diffusion doesn’t involve any heat; unlike oil or wax burners, there is no risk of burning yourself.
This list will guide you through many of the other benefits of diffusing essential oils.
What is a Diffuser and How Does It Work?
A diffuser is a device that disperses essential oils throughout a space by evaporating them into smaller molecules. They also send out purifying negative ions into the air. Additionally, a diffuser can be used as a humidifier by using pure water.
Diffusers circulate their contents through a vibrating disk called an atomizer that creates ultrasonic waves. These vibrations vaporize the water molecules and essential oil, releasing mist into the air through a vent on the top.
What a Diffuser Can Do For You
From creating a sense of calm to eliminating unwanted odors from a room, diffusers have a lot of benefits.
A few of the top benefits of diffusing essential oils are:
Creating a Relaxing Environment
A diffuser can be used to create a sense of tranquility in any room, relaxing both your body and mind. The oils, in combination with the released negative ions, create a stress-relieving aroma. In turn, this can make you feel less anxious and jittery and lead to more restful sleep.
Lavender oil, ylang ylang, and eucalyptus are especially known to help destress . Clary sage, bergamot, and citrus scents can also assist in creating a relaxing environment. For added calming effects, try combining these oils in your diffuser .
Cleanses Energy
Throughout history, essential oils have been used for cleansing and clearing away negative energy. This can be especially helpful during meditation, allowing you to focus better and gain more clarity. Diffuse oils in your room during your practice to reap these benefits.
Frankincense oils, both Boswellia carterii and serrata, are best known for their ability to help cleanse energy. Lemongrass and bergamot have also been used for these purposes for centuries. In addition, rosemary can promote spiritual purity.
Improves Concentration and Alertness
Another benefit of diffusing oils is that certain oils can improve concentration . Whether you are in your home or office, a diffuser can be an excellent tool to make you more alert.
Rosemary oil is known to enhance concentration and improve alertness. Another great option for staying focused is peppermint. To boost its effects, try combining peppermint oil with a citrus scent.
Covering Up Unwanted Odors
Diffusing essential oils can help eliminate unpleasant household odors in any room of your home. Aromatic oils do this by killing the fungi and bacteria that create unpleasant smells.
Diffusing lemon, grapefruit, or clove can help eliminate the smell of mildew. Citronella works well to combat a stinky kitchen. Even lingering odors like tobacco smoke can be covered up with essential oils, including eucalyptus and lemongrass.
Our Diffusers
At Pyurvana, we currently offer three different diffuser options. Each is made from high-quality materials and includes a variety of different modes and settings in order to enhance your diffusing experience.
Patra
Patra, the Sanskrit word for “plant,” is our largest diffuser option, with a 300-milliliter water capacity. It includes a color-changing light-emitting diode (LED) and a sleek, natural wood design. Like our other diffusers, it is made with high-grade, eco-friendly materials that are safe as well as durable.
Nihara
Nihara, or “mist” in Sanskrit, is an opal-shaped diffuser that can hold 180 milliliters of water. It also has a built-in sleep timer that will turn itself off after 30 minutes. Nihara can be used as a lamp, with three light options to choose from. One option is Breathing mode, where the intensity of the light gently increases and decreases to help cultivate a soothing atmosphere.
Ananda
Our third diffuser option, Ananda, means “bliss” in Sanskrit. Similar to Nihara, it doubles as a lamp and has three light settings. Another feature of Ananda is a choice between continuous and intermittent streams of mist.
Maintenance
For each of our three diffuser options, it is important to follow the correct cleaning and maintenance protocols. This ensures that you can enjoy the freshest aroma from your oils. Depending on how frequently you use your unit, we recommend cleaning it every 3-5 days.
To clean your Pyurvana diffuser, first unplug it from its power source. Next, pour out any remaining water and use a cloth or cotton swab to clean the inside. Make sure to pay careful attention to the atomizer. While it is safe to use mild dish soap, do not clean your diffuser with alcohol or other harsh cleaning products. Lastly, rinse the unit out with water and it is ready for use again.
